Dallas Stars Win Western Conference Final, Advance to Stanley Cup Finals
Stars Sweep Oilers in Six Games
Dallas, Texas - The Dallas Stars have clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Finals after sweeping the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Final.
The Stars defeated the Oilers 4-2 in Game 6 on Saturday night to complete the sweep and advance to the championship series for the first time since 2000.
Dallas took a 3-0 lead in the series after the first two games, then held on to win Game 3 in overtime. The Stars lost Game 4 before rebounding to win Game 5 at home.
In Game 6, the Stars got goals from Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson, and Jamie Benn. Jake Oettinger made 33 saves in net for Dallas.
The Stars will now face the Eastern Conference champion Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Finals. Game 1 is scheduled for Monday, June 12th, in Denver.
