New Map Search Goes Live, Old Map to Retire in March 2024

The Polk County Property Appraiser (PCPA) has launched a new Map Search tool, which is now live. The old Interactive Map will be retired in March 2024.

The new Map Search provides users with a more user-friendly and intuitive experience. It includes features such as:

  • A simplified search bar
  • Improved parcel data accuracy
  • Enhanced aerial imagery
  • New mapping tools

Assessor's Responsibilities

Property Tax Assessment

The Polk County Assessor is responsible for appraising real estate and assessing a property tax on properties located in Polk County, Florida.

The Tax Collector collects all ad valorem taxes levied in Polk County. The Tax Collector also collects non-ad valorem assessments, which are also made by taxing authorities.

Administrative and Statutory Duties

The assessor is also charged with several administrative and statutory duties, including:

  • Maintaining property records
  • Providing property tax information to the public
  • Processing property tax appeals
  • Enforcing property tax laws
