Severe Weather Warnings Issued for Georgia
Counties Under Severe Thunderstorm Warning
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for several counties in Georgia, including Butts, Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, and Spalding. The warnings remain in effect until 7 pm EDT.
Additional Counties Added to Warning
The NWS has since expanded the severe thunderstorm warning to include Heard, Meriwether, Pike, and Troup counties.
More Counties Under Threat
A separate severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Cherokee, DeKalb, and Forsyth counties.
Severe Weather Impact on Memorial Day Weekend
Severe weather, including thunderstorms and heavy rain, has impacted many areas of the country over the Memorial Day weekend. Georgia has not been immune to these storms, which arrived in the state early on Monday.
