NFL Draft 2024: Giants Surprise with QB Landing in Mock Draft

Eight Trades Highlight First Round, Including Five Quarterback Selections

Five QBs, Five Trades as Jets Make Surprise Splash

In the latest mock draft from NFL Draft Buzz, eight trades shake up the first round, including a surprising move by the New York Giants to acquire a quarterback. Chad Reuter, the site's lead draft analyst, predicts five signal-callers will go in the first round, with four of them landing in the top 10.

According to Reuter's mock, the Giants trade up to No. 4 overall to select Anthony Richardson, the dynamic quarterback from the University of Florida. This move is a departure from recent years, as the Giants have struggled to find a franchise quarterback and have instead relied on veteran free agents.

Other notable trades in the first round include the Raiders sending the No. 3 overall pick to the Indianapolis Colts for a package of picks, including the No. 13 and No. 35 overall selections. The Colts then use the No. 3 pick to draft C.J. Stroud, the Heisman Trophy finalist from Ohio State.

The Jacksonville Jaguars also make a move up the board, trading up to No. 2 overall to select Bryce Young, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner from Alabama. The Carolina Panthers, meanwhile, trade down from No. 9 overall to No. 13 overall, acquiring additional picks in the process.

The final 2024 NFL Mock Draft Update will be released on April 25, 2024. As the NFL Draft approaches, more trades and surprises are sure to emerge. For the latest news and analysis on the NFL Draft, be sure to follow NFL Draft Buzz.
